Are we just supposed to accept everything that is said because the person who says it claims to be a Christian?

Reformed Tunes Tuesday: Thrice – “At The Last”

This jam comes from Thrice’s newest album “Beggars”. It’s about a man who is nearing/at the end of his life, and is looking back on all that he has done. He sees that he’s never really done anything too bad (murder/steal), and that he seems to have always looked out for his own best interests. He’s a pretty good guy. But then realizes that when he’s gone, none of it really mattered, that it was all in vain.

If anyone should ask me what I mean by a Calvinist, I should reply, “He is one who says, Salvation is of the Lord.

I think this may be my first post actually addressing regeneration. And it’s done by one of my favorite bands, the high-energy, vocally-overwhelming, lyrically-enlivened…Future of Forestry. This song is talking about an unbeliever, as the Holy Spirit works and gives them life and a new heart.
