Interesting.

I really enjoy Dr. Keller's take on our dependance on Christ for everything.

When we look at our everyday lives and see our dependance on the transient things around us, our desires to make little gods is astounding.

I like the picture of Jesus in the Garden asking the Father if there is any other way for our sin to be atoned for. Despite the shame that he is going to face and knows he has to face, he still utters "but thy will be done". Amazing.

I think in order for us to be dependant only on Christ we have to realize...

The Problem: We can't be dependant on Christ in our flesh, by "trying really hard everyday"

The Example: Christ's dependance and faith in the father is the example of the dependance and faith we should have in Him.

The Solution: We must put full faith in Christ to, through his own example, transform us into willing servants of him, not concerned with anything in this world but the spreading of the Gospel.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1 & 2)
